With the smell of evergreen boughs, hot mulled wine and freshly baked gingerbread wafting about, it’s safe to say that the most wonderful time of the year is soon upon us.
So why not incorporate the festive spirit into your radio station in order to attract even more listeners and add to their general merriness. That’s why we’ve put together some of our top tips to spread Christmas cheer via your radio station.
Decorate your radio station
You might not want to deck your radio station with boughs of holly but why not tweak your radio station’s logo to reflect the festive period. It’s a great opportunity to be creative so don’t hold back! Don’t forget to update your cover photo on your radio page or social media to promote any kind of Christmas or New Year competitions that you might be running.
Top Tip: Schedule hourly Christmas jingles using the Breaks module on the Radio Manager. Or if you’re going live with StudioKing, why not add your own Christmassy samplers.
Like Santa’s little helpers, we’ve even put together a special Christmas pack for you. In this pack, you’ll find a couple of jolly icons to adorn your visuals this season:
Fireside Chats
Find the perfect yuletide content to entertain your audience over the next couple of weeks and they’re bound to stay loyal.
- Why not organize a Quiz of the Year as one of your radio shows! Invite a couple of special guests on air to answer questions relating to events that have happened over the past year.
- Have your listeners call in to wish their loved ones a Merry Christmas. They might even want to share their New Year’s resolutions or some of their favorite food recipes for a festive party!
- Organize a prize draw where one lucky listener gets to win their dream Christmas present (within reason) or station merchandise.
Top Tip: Heading off to the Christmas market? Why not go live using BroadcastMyself and ask passers by to wish your listeners a very Merry Christmas!
Festive playlists
While there might be a number of Christmas clangers that make you contemplate perforating your eardrums with a cinnamon stick, festive tunes during this period are a must on your radio station. Here are some crackers if you’re in need of a bit of inspiration:

- Wonderful Christmas Time – Paul McCartney
